Mom Monday: Katie W.

For the next few months, I am running a new feature! Every Monday, I will be featuring a mom here on my blog. She might have a cool Instagram, or be a Vlogger, or just be a generally badass mom and an amazing person. One thing is for sure, she’s won’t be a regular mom, she’s a cool mom. If you have any ideas or would like to participate in Mom Monday, please send me an email!

Name(s) and age(s) of children
Theodore James (Theo), 13 months old today!
Jerry (K9, first born – fawn), 8 years old
Sandy (K9, foster fail – white), 4 years old

Biggest parenting fail
The first time Theo ever fell off the bed. I didn’t realize he could successfully get around (he had just started scooting) and he scooted himself right off of the edge of the twin bed in his room, while I was putting away diapers. He fell right on his head, and I felt AWFUL. Of course, I called the nurse’s line and they told me what to look for. I brought him in the next day because he seemed tired, but not necessarily more tired than he normally is. I think I just wanted some reassurance that he was OK. I left that appointment having learned that Theo was perfectly fine, but he is just a sleepy boy.

Favorite travel destination
Our cruise on the Adriatic sea was pretty incredible, so I’d like to check out more of Southern Europe! This cruise was part of our honeymoon, which was truly epic. We went to Barcelona, all over Italy, the cruise, and then London.

You’re at home doing chores. What’s on as your background noise? Most likely whatever is on Bravo.

Describe your ideal date night
There is a restaurant about a mile from our house that has been featured in Bon Appetit magazine: Kindred. My ideal date night is walking up there with Matt, and sitting at the bar to enjoy drinks and a few courses. Their food is incredible, and any time we have had a special moment in our lives, we have celebrated at Kindred! We even took engagement and wedding photos there.

Outside of being a mom, what are you most proud of?
My career! While I am not working outside of the home now, I consider my 10 year career prior to having Theo as one of my greatest accomplishments. I’ll share more about it soon, since I think this topic definitely warrants it’s own post.

What is your most unpopular opinion?
I’ll probably lose followers over this (I’m sorry!), but I just could not get into Hamilton.

Haha same with Hamilton. We watched the majority of it, but ended turning it off a before finishing. We never went back to watch it because we had little interest in continuing lol
