Bath time Favorites

Bath time with baby can be incredibly cute and fun. I am rounding up some of my favorite bath products, to make bath time fun for your little one!

I got freaked out by the stories of mold inside of bath toys causing eye infections (it’s so unlikely, yet I panicked), and I got rid of all of them. Now we just play with foam letters and bath books. My child won’t sit and read a regular book, but he loves playing with bath books.

This Dora bath toy is also a huge hit, since my child is obsessed with Dora the Explorer.

When Theo was really little, this oversized washcloth helped keep him warm in the bath and I absolutely recommend it for your newborn. We still use this whale cup to rinse off his body and hair! Our favorite hooded towels are from Monica + Andy (offering 2% cash back on Rakuten!)

It’s no secret though, that our absolute favorite bath products are from Tubby Todd. I’ve been using them since he was a newborn! They are gentle enough for new baby skin, but tough enough to tackle the toddler grime as well. The all over ointment has been a lifesaver for my skin, as well as Theo’s. Any patches of dry skin, are gone overnight with the ointment! Theo is also obsessed with the Watermelon toothpaste.

Until 9 PM EST on Sunday, January 31st, you can get 15% off of your Tubby Todd purchase using this link! The discount is normally 10%, and I know that every little bit helps.

What are your family’s favorite bath products for kids??

Mom Monday: Rayven A.

My friend Rayven is one of the funniest humans that I know. She has a YouTube channel, where she posts some mom content – cleaning videos (so satisfying!), product reviews, and much more. Her channel is on a temporary hiatus, while she gets ready for baby #2. Do yourself a favor also, and follow her on Instagram. Without further ado, meet Rayven!

Name(s) and age(s) of children
Wren Louise – 16 months
32 weeks pregnant with baby girl #2

Favorite concert
Ooh… tough. I have actually seen A LOT of performers live (thanks, Bonnaroo!) The concert that left me totally impressed was The Reputation Tour (Taylor Swift). She is just an incredible performer. I love Sam Smith though and his concerts always bring me to tears. My “craziest” concert experience was at an A$AP Ferg concert where I crowd surfed (see kids, mom IS cool!!!)

Favorite travel destination
I really love Scotland, but Banff, Canada holds a special place in my heart since that is where we got married.

What has been the best/worst part about being a mom?
The best thing about being a mom is watching your family transform – whether it’s baby developing their personality and skills or your partner falling into their new role as a parent, it’s a really beautiful experience.

The worst part about being a mom is how much more gets added to your plate. Women typically carry the mental load of the family but having children only exacerbates it. Also, never using the bathroom alone ever again.

Who is your celebrity crush?
I would let Tom Hardy ruin my life.

If your life was a movie what would be the title?
Hm, I’m going to change this question a little to “book” instead of movie because my answers are better LOL

Serious title ~life memoir~ would be: Learning to Fly (get it, because I’m named after a bird???)

Funny title would be: Are you serious John???It’s literally right in front of you: Navigating the Common Man

What is your most unpopular opinion?

Here are a few:

-Grease 2 is an amazing movie

-The Beatles are just…ok

-John Mayer version of “Free Fallin” is superior (editor’s note: as much as I love Tom Petty, I agree with this unpopular opinion).

What’s on my TV lately: January 2021

Bridgerton (Netflix)

This is a show that is completely and totally out of my comfort zone. I usually refuse to watch anything that is set in a period before the 20th century. I don’t like watching shows in which the people have British accents. I would describe this show as Gossip Girl set in 1800s London. By the second episode, I was HOOKED!! Love, sex, secrets, lies. It has it all. There are only 8 episodes in the first season, so it’s a relatively quick watch.

Haute Dog (HBO Max)

This is a dog grooming competition show on HBO Max, and it’s every bit as ridiculous as it sounds. The host and judges are absolutely hysterical, and I love watching the cutie dogs get groomed. I also try and imagine what it would be like if it were my dogs on the show, and it probably wouldn’t go well. I’m in awe of how well behaved these animals are! If you like dogs, competition shows, and are looking for something light hearted and corny, this is for you.

Pieces of a Woman (Netflix)

I’m not one to watch movies so this really took me out of my comfort zone as well. I literally will watch the same movies over and over again (Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, Christmas Vacation). It does deal with a very triggering topic (infant death), so please take this as a warning. It was hard to watch, but it was also incredibly well done and I felt every single emotion of the characters in the movie. Subject matter aside, the acting and direction was absolutely impeccable.

The Bachelor (ABC/Hulu)

I skipped last season of The Bachelorette because I just couldn’t deal, but this season? I’ll be tuning in. I love that ABC has FINALLY casted a person of color as the leads, as well as the cast of girls is much more diverse than we’ve ever seen in the past. So far, I’m into it! I’ve seen almost every season of The Bachelor since the very beginning with Alex Michel. I’ve been obsessed with reality TV for a very long time.
